Ghost pages

Ghost Pages: No it's not Halloween Ghost pages they are pages that are designed solely to obtain higher listings in search engines. They are not intended to be seen by a surfer.(Hence the name ghost pages.) The reason of a ghost page is to have a highly optimized page linked to your Homepage. Links to ghost pages should be hidden. The more ghost pages you are linked to, the better. The only visible thing on the page should be a large link to your main page, in case a surfer does end up there. The all-important text can all be hidden. All ghost pages and the main page should be linked together via hidden links. Thus, if you have six ghost pages and one main page, each page should have six links on it (there is no need to link a page to itself).

Hidden links: Links are found by the spiders on your page are very important in determining relevancy. The spiders travel to the pages you are linked to and determine their relevancy. All this is then figured into the overall relevancy of your page. Therefore, the more links you have to pages optimized to a given word, the more relevant you will be considered for said word. This is the reason ghost pages are so important. This is also the reason that some pages come up high on words that are not even found once in their source code.

The general rule is that the more links you have to relevant pages, the better (some search engines ignore more than 20)You can either have hidden links pointing to your own ghost pages, or other pages you think are relevant to your key words (a competitors page, for example). These links will not be completely invisible, a section of the link has to appear on the page (the section the user can click on). They will however, not look like links and should be hidden in the bottom corner of the page.
