MIME FORMAT hoax

This is a hoax warning about a non-existing virus spread by email messages.

Here's an example of the hoax.

Hello fellow workers, I recently had a few friends in town with a New Virus.
This is a encryption Virus. You all may already know of this Virus. I didn't!
The Virus comes in on your Email. It is in what is called: MIME FORMAT. If you open your Email, It will say something like, "This is in MIME Format." If you try to delete the Email, the Virus isactivated. All of the system files
will be changed to have (5) zeros and then the number (2). Reloading Windows
will not fix the problem. You will have to REMOVE all of Windows and then Load in a New Copy. The only way we found to prevent this Virus was to have McAffee Virus checker. Dr.Solomon and other Virus checkers could not Detect the Virus I thought this is an important message. We all do a lot of emailing now days. Be Careful!!!!

Please ignore this hoax and do not pass it on.

Welcome to my hoax section if you encounter a message about a virus please send to [email protected] or call me on ICQ#22015420

I do not spread hoaxes! these pages are simply to inform other users that they are hoaxes. Please to not spread hoaxes. Hoax warnings are typically scare alerts started by malicious people - and passed on by innocent users who think they are helping the community by spreading the warning.

Do not forward hoax messages. There have been cases where e-mail systems have collapsed after dozens of users forwarded a false alert to everybody in the company. Corporate users can get rid of the hoax problem by simply setting a strict company guideline: End users must not forward virus alarms. Ever. If such message is received, end users could forward it to the IT department but not to anyone else.
